It’s about 10:30 pm, the night of the interview, things back at the Hurst mansion were dim to silenced.  Hunter, Colton and Cassie all walk into the front door, waiting to hear from Summer.  Cassie’s silence was defining, Colton’s face still in a state of distraught and Hunter looks at them both and motions for them to sit.

“You two sit down.  It is time we get this shit out into the open.  When your mother gets here, we are going to work this out.”   Hunter’s voice was stern, you could tell this was building up for far too long.

"Is she even going to get out of there tonight? We shouldn't do this if she is not here.” Colton looked a bit worried.

“I know your mother; she is on her way. It is not that they could keep her that long. She didn't hit anyone this time.” Hunter explained.

The two glare over to Cassie, she stares at them both blankly, with a tiny curl to the left side of the lip.  Colton squints his eyes to Cassie as if he notices something wasn't right, his cell phone rings.  It's the county jail; Colton’s eyes grew wide as he places the call on speaker.

“Mom?  Is everything ok?  When will you be home? "

Hunter walks to Colton to listen in on the call.  “Colton, are you alright?  How is Cassie, I can't talk for long. Tell your father I will be home soon.  It's hard to charm my way out of here when the guard is a Hawke fan!  It may take me another 30 minutes.”

You can hear a snicker in her voice and Hunter smiles as he shakes his head.

“I am ok. sis is here, being her normal talkative self.  The old man is making us sit here till you get home. He said something about a family meeting.”

“Yes!! I agree with your father, I will be home shortly.  They won't keep me here. I must go now, Love to you all, see you in a bit.”

Just before the call ends, you could hear a male voice in the background.  “The things I could get away with in here.”

Both Hunter and Colton were still listening as the receiver on Summer’s end was heard dropping, and the sound of Summer’s body being shoved into the cell bars behind her; Their eyes grew with rage.

Hunter steps away as he walks to the kitchen, several moments pass as he comes back with a six pack, he opens one and hands it to Cassie. He walks back to Colton handing him one before sitting down, opening one and tossing it back to subdue the anger inside.

“I don’t know why I even agreed to this!! This is why I always said that interviews suck.”

The office was packed, the jail seemed overly crowded for a Thursday night.  Summer, who now sits patiently in the captain’s office has blood dripping from her right eyebrow; You see standing outside the glass wall, the guard whose nose is apparently broken, pointing into the office screaming at the captain.  As the two step away, you see two tall, very well-dressed men begin to step inside the room.

"It's about time!"  Summer turns around thinking it was her way out.

One man tosses a small piece of paper into Summer’s lap, and they step back out of the room.  She opens the folded paper:  "You are still as beautiful as the day I first set eyes on you.  Even more so in handcuffs.  Join me, stand by my side like you should have been from the start, I can make you the most powerful woman in the world. -Dominic"

The look of furry was upon her face as she noticed who the men were.

"You bastards set this up, didn't you?"  The two men look at each other with a smile then back to Summer

“You tell him, he won't get me, and I am more powerful than he realizes!  I promise him that!”

A few moments pass as the shift Captain steps back into the room.

“You really did a number on my officer there Mrs. Hurst.  You are lucky he isn’t pressing charges on top of these already filled on you.  Were those friends of yours I just saw walk out of here? “

Looking rather surprised as he was familiar with the two.

Summer cracks a smile while she wipes the blood that is dripping from her face.

“Your officer seemed to need a few days off, I simply complied.  And as for your concern, NO, those men are no friends of mine..  And If I EVER see them again....” She stops as the captain gives her a look, just waiting for her to say something wrong.   “What will you do Mrs. Hurst...if you ever see them again?”

She smiles. “Are you going to let me the hell out of here now, you can't keep me!”   Summer stands to her feet, pressing the palms of her hand onto the top of the desk.

“Yes, Mrs. Hurst. You can go!  But....”

Summer storms out of the office and runs out of the building, in a hurry to try to catch a glimpse of the two men who stepped into the office.  As she catches one getting inside a black SUV, she shouts..

I will see you ALL killed! You hear me?  You, the coward you work for and his little bitch Rebeka! Stay away from me and my family!”

The car drives off into the distance, Summer reaches in her pocket for her cell and makes another call.

“Hi Charlie..." she laughs, "No, Hunter isn't in jail this time. It's me, can you pick me up?"  She laughs again, See you in a bit, and hurry!!”

It's about 11:45 that evening, the front door to the Hurst mansion opens once again, with Summer finally stepping inside with the door closing behind her, she is greeted with a flying can of beer headed directly towards her.

“You know the rules baby girl. Drink up.”

She catches the beer, smiles at Hunter and cracks the tab "Damn.. Idjit, I'm glad you saved me one! “

She walks over to sit beside him.  He begins to stare at the cut above her eye while he tucked her hair behind her ear.  “You just can’t play nice, can you?”

The two smile at each other as she takes a drink of beer.  She looked at Colton who had a relieved look upon his face, and over to Cassie as she still had a familiar smirk upon hers.

“Ok, this was a pretty fucked up night wouldn't you say?”  Summer says as she finally leans back, crossing her legs exhaling a deep sigh.

“Of course, it was. It always is. They don't care about things. They just want the shock value. Set you up with easy stuff and then slam!”  Hunter shakes his head. “What makes them think we would talk about this stuff with them anyway?”

Colton leans forward in his seat; he crushes the empty can in his hand as he steps up to toss it in the trash.  “Besides, there is nothing to talk about. That is the past. We have all passed that episode. We are good.”

"GOOD...Good, you say?"  The voice was dominant in a persistent feminine way.  The three turn to look, as the silent smirk was now vocal.  Summer lowers her head with a sigh and glares back up.  “Vanity...”

Hunter looks his daughter dead in the eye. “You know what he meant. It is our business not theirs. We fix our own shit. If you have something to say, then just say it.”  His voice was stern, and he knew he just rattled the lion’s cage.

Quickly she stands on her feet, waiting for any confrontation this may cause. “Lower the testosterone there Pops before you hurt yourself.  We couldn't have Mommy dearest running back to Hawke because Daddy couldn't get it up anymore now, could we?”

She smirks at him with an evil glare. This is family business and whether you choose to accept me as part of it, I'm not going anywhere.  I am not your problem, but I can be, I am here because", she looks straight to Hunter, "YOUR little girl can't handle this fucked up life."

she then looks to Summer, "YOUR SON created for her!”

She glares straight to Colton pointing her finger towards his face with no remorse.

“And YOU, you have sat back, watched your baby sister suffer for years.  You claim to be a tough guy, a nothing left to prove guy .. A Fuckin HURST for God's sake!!  Where were they all that night, huh? "Always and Forever"?  "Rules and Bones..ect, ect.."  Bull Fuckin Shit!!  Where was the Loyalty to her then?”

Colton turns glaring hard at his sister.  “Oh great. It’s you now.  You want to put your two cents in?” He steps closer, just within inches from her face.

“Where was I? I was trying to fix her fuck up!  That’s right. I told her time and time again to stay away. I told her how dangerous they were. They killed Sasha, they tried to take me out by driving a cement truck into my motorcycle, and what they did to YOU, Cassie, it cannot even be talked about. So, where was I you ask... I was lying in the middle of the damn street a mile away from you. I know what YOU went through. They stood there forcing me to watch what was going on while I laid broken in the road.”

Colton turns to his parents. He had never spoken of this to anyone. They only seen him after he was taken to the hospital. That was the day he lost his true love, the day he lost his sister, the day he lost his worth.

Summer's eyes began to water, she tried to speak, but nothing she could say would come out as she wanted.  She stood from the sofa, walked over to Colton and embraced him as if it were the first time.  As She slowly backed away, she glared upon Cassie's face, she knew that was not her daughter, and all of tonight's pent-up anger had finally gotten the best of her and she stepped up to Cassie and landing her right hand across her face; and at that very second Summer dropped to her knees.  She knew what she did was wrong; she had never laid hands on her children, ever; she looked over to Hunter and just lowered her head.

“And there she is...There’s the woman I've waited to see.  You're not so tough now are you, MOM? "

Cassie slowly returns her glare back to Summer with a sardonic smile.

"You are as pathetic as your precious baby girl was laying on that floor.  You can talk all the shit you want, your in-ring maneuvers won't help you this time, because after this, there will always be someone there picking you up!”

Vanity slowly pushes Summer out of the way and begins to walk towards Hunter.

“This family is about as fake as they come.  I guess it's up to me to fix it!”   Reaching out her hand she grabs his last beer and opens it in his face.

“Don't mind if I do... Pops!”

Just as she goes to step back, Hunter stands to his feet, grabs her arm, and spins her around forcefully.  Glaring up at him her eyes squint and she jerks her arm out of his grip. His look is that of stone. His eyes locked onto hers, in a low, very calming tone he speaks.

“This is not how this is going to happen. You stand up for her and you protect her, but you will not treat her mother this way. You may think this family is a joke and a waste of your time, but it is everything to me. You asked the question, and Colton answered you. Now it is your turn.  Why were you even involved? Why didn't you listen to him? Why stick your nose into something that is dangerous? What in the hell were you trying to prove, Cassandra?”

The room went silent, Colton was helping his mother to her feet, and you could see a strange look appear on Cassie's face as Hunter grabbed her arm. A blank, not so angry look appeared on Cassie's face as Hunter was speaking.

"Daddy...?"  She dropped the beer that she was holding and embraced her father while whispering in his ear.  “I’m sorry!!  It was never Colton's fault. It was mine."
