It was eleven thirty Friday night, William and Cassie were loading up in the truck after the show. Cassie sat in the driver’s seat, glaring down at the piece of paper that was folded into the tiny ring box she had given to Emmalyn just moments before. William opens the door and steps inside; he looks over to her as she continues to read. “Are you ok?” He leans over towards her seat and lifts her chin up and turns her head in his direction. “You know, I am not going to let him come near you again, right?” She smiled and nods. They sit quietly for just a moment. “Billy, I don’t want to go back to that cabin.” William leans forward, kissing her forehead with a smile. “We don’t have to do anything you do not want to do, Crashie.” He leans back to his side of the seat. Pulling out his cellphone from his back pocket and moving the phone closer to her. "Can you dial your dad's number please?" As she dials the number, William puts the phone to his ear. "Hello sir. I am just letting you know that Cassie and I are not going to be home tonight. No sir, nothing is wrong. We are in Fort Worth and are too tired to drive back.” Cassie is smiling as she places her hand over her mouth and yawns. William smiles, shaking his head. “Yes sir, I will get her a room and I will sleep in the truck.” Cassie tries not to laugh as she begins to playfully tug at William’s shirt and rubs the outer portion of his left ear with her thumb. William shrugs his shoulder, trying to remain calm while speaking on the phone. “Yes sir, you can trust me.” Cassie smiles, raising an eyebrow to William while shaking her head playfully. “I will take care of her you have my word." Cassie grins devilishly while nodding her head in William’s direction. He begins to smile shaking his head in return. As he hangs up, putting the phone back into his pocket.
Cassie leans back to her seat and begins to text her mother. Mom, Me & William are gonna stay in Ft. Worth tonight. Everything is cool. It’s late and I am just tired and don’t want to risk falling asleep at the wheel with a 2hr drive. You know Billy can’t drive with a broken arm. We just called dad, make sure he is okay with it. Love you! She sends the texts and begins to look up the hotel’s number to make the reservation and Summer’s reply, rings as Cassie turns the phone to William.
“Okay Babygirl, get your rest…and make sure you are protected! -wink, wink- I will handle your father!
William’s face turns red, and he shakes his head with a smile. Cassie begins to make the call to Hotel Dover. “Yes, I would like to book a room for the night, please. What do you have available? “She pauses looking directly over to William. “I see, okay, give me that. The name will be Cassandra Hurst. Yes, Sir, the same information, that is correct. Thank you!”
She hangs up, looking over to William with a smile. “You are going to love this place.” She puts the truck in gear and down the highway they go.
Fifteen minutes down the road and Cassie pulls into the entrance of Hotel Drover. The immaculate front entrance was lit up with the fluorescent glow of soft white lights leading into the hotel front lobby. Cassie parks at the circle drive and William gets out, opening the door for her as they make their way into the lobby.
"Hi, Room for Cassandra Hurst." The guy behind the desk types in on the computer, pulling up the reservation. "Yes, Ma'am, 1 King suite with jacuzzi tub, coming right up." William looks at Cassie and she turns smiling. "Room 320". She smiles, grabs the key cards.
In the parking lot of the Dover Hotel a black and red Hummer pulls in and parks. Colton gets out and walks over to the passenger side. He opens the door and helps Lily down. From the backseat he pulls two small overnight bags and carries them walking to the entrance. Lily is dressed in a long red dress trimmed with black lace. Colton is dressed in a black suit with a red tie. They walk in and up to the front desk. Colton smiles. Good evening. I have a reservation." The guy looks at him. "Name sir?" Colton looks at the guy. "Hurst, Colton Hurst." The guy looks at Colton and then at the computer. "We kept you all close. Here are your keys. Room 322." Colton raises an eyebrow and takes the keys, and they walk to the elevator. The bell rings and the doors open, and they walk in. Colton looks at Lily. "So did you have tonight, Lil?" Lily smiles and leans up and kisses Colton. "This has just been a wonderful day. I kind of miss Sammy, but this is nice, just us." The door opens and they walk down the hall to their room. Colton opens the door and lets Lily go in first. Colton follows and places the bags down and spins Lily into a deep, passionate kiss.
Cassie and William look around the room, Cassie's eyes are fixated upon the large jacuzzi tub in the entranceway to the bathroom. "Don't get too comfy while I go down to park the truck." Cassie smiles. "You relax Crashie, I can park it. I will be right back." He takes the keys from her hands and gives her a kiss. "Is there anything you need out of the truck?" She nods. "Maybe those shirts you bought; I don't have any other clothes to wear." She winks and he walks out the door smiling. The guests next door had just shut their door as William stepped out. He could hear laughter coming from inside as he continued to make his way to the elevator. Cassie jumps upon the bed, bouncing like a little girl. She begins to look at her cell phone and immediately sends a text to Lily. "Girl..I hope you are not too busy with my brother at the moment. ha ha..I just had to tell you, I am spending the night with William. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. It's our first real night alone together! Anyway, don't do anything, I wouldn't do, and if you do, Name her after me! Love you!!" She places the phone face down upon the bed and leans back with a huge smile.
Colton is changing out of his suit as Lily sits on a chair watching him. Her phone pings and she sees the text from Cassie. She lets out a little laugh. She starts to text back. "I am happy for you.. Don't hurt him too much. How was the first date?" Colton walks over to Lily. "What are you doing babe?" Lily smiles. "Just texting your sister, seeing how her date with William is going." Colton looks at her. "It is kind of weird to see them together. We grew up together. I never thought they would hook up. But he is a thousand times better than Damon." Lily brushes her hand on his cheek. "I think William is good for her. Have you noticed that since he has been around, she has not had any incidents? He makes her happy. That is all you can ask for, right?" Colton kisses her forehead. "You are right babe. How about you change, and I will order us some drinks and snacks." Lily stands up with the help of Colton. She reaches for her bag and heads into the bathroom. Colton walks over to the desk and picks up the phone. "I would like to order a bottle of red wine and cheese plate please. Yes, charge it to the room."
William walks out to the truck and begins to park it near the window of their room. He looks down several spots over and notices a black and red Hummer about 10 spots over. He shakes his head while grabbing the shirts, a snack bag with 2 cans of Sun Drop sodas and a big bag of potato chips. He closes the door and sets the alarm. As he continues to walk into the lobby as his cell phone rings with a voicemail. It was his father. He stops just as he enters the lobby. "Hello son, call me when you get the chance, some guy stopped by the shop looking for you. He left a message taped to your windshield it said, she will always belong to me. I hope you are not having problems with the person you bought the car from. Anyway...call me." The message beeped and he hung up the phone. He put the stuff down on a nearby chair in the lobby and returned his father’s call. "Hey Pop, I need you to go to Aunt Mary's house for the night. I know it's late, I am out of town, but I will be back tomorrow. Don't ask questions, just go. Love you, Pop." He sighs, picks up the things and makes his way to the elevator. He notices the restaurant taking room service as he stops at the desk and asks to place an order. "May I get 2 glasses with ice brought up to room 320 please?" The young lady at the desk confirms. "Would you like for me to bring it up with the rest of the order, sir?" Looking confused, he nodded his head, assuming Cassie must have ordered something. "Sure. Thank you." and he makes his way inside the elevator. The third-floor pings and William steps out. He walks a little bit down the hall and forgets he does not have the room key. He knocks on the door several times, though Cassie does not hear him. He continues to knock louder and calls out for Cassie. Several moments pass with William knocking, before Cassie finally hears him and comes running to the door and opens it. "I'm sorry, Babe, I must have dozed off on the bed. It's so comfy."
Colton is sitting waiting on Lily when he hears someone yelling in the hallway. Hearing the name Cassie, he thinks about getting up, but as he does Lily comes out of the bathroom in a short satin green robe. Colton is locked in place. "Damn...babe, you look sexy. I am a very lucky man." Lily walks over to the bed. She looks at Colton and raises her hand and pointing at him, she curls her finger for him to come over to her. Colton stands up and walks over to her. He leans down kissing her deeply. He lays her back on the bed. He starts to kiss her neck while he unties her robe. She reaches up pulling his shirt over his head.
Cassie helps William with the bag of goodies and puts the drinks inside the small icebox underneath the entertainment center and notices William sitting on the small love seat staring at his phone. She walks over to him and sits down on his lap. "Is everything ok, you look bothered." He looks up from his phone, laying it on the table beside him. He wraps his arms around her and pulls her close. "Everything is fine." He turns her body as her legs straddle his and he leans up from the back of the loveseat giving her a kiss. As the two are held in an embrace, they begin to hear soft talking, and laughter coming from the room next door. Cassie pulls away from William and begins to giggle. "Someone is enjoying their evening." William laughs, "Ya, paper thin walls, I suppose." Cassie stands and walks closer to the wall, putting her ear up against it. William shakes his head and pulls her towards him. "Cas, no." She begins to laugh as the sounds become louder. She takes her hand and begins to tap on the wall and stepped away smiling. Several minutes passed, and the noise had come to an end. Cassie had stepped into the bathroom. William had now stretched out across the love seat with his feet hanging over the edge. A knock was heard, and a female voice echoed from behind the door. "Room service." William leans forward, and stands from the couch, he makes his way to the door and opens it. The woman from the desk downstairs has a small chart with a silver dome on top with two glasses of ice on the side. She begins to push the cart inside and hands William a piece of paper. He reaches for his wallet to tip the woman as she shakes her head no and steps back out of the door. Cassie steps out from the bathroom wearing a white towel.
She looks over to William just as he is lifting the dome off the cart. "Put that down and come here." William lowers the lid, not looking at the contents underneath. He slowly walks over to Cassie who begins to walk backwards slowly, pulling him with his shirt. She stands Infront of the jacuzzi, taking a step backwards and up the first step. She releases the towel as it falls to the floor. She reaches for William's waist and tugs on his jeans; she begins to unbutton his pants and slides her hands into the waistband and lowers them to the floor. William takes his shirt, lifting it over his head as he steps out of his pants, taking Cassie into his arms, straddling her legs around his waist. He takes a step forward stepping into the tub with Cassie in his arms. He begins to bend his knees into a seated position carefully as Cassie wraps her arms around his neck and begins to kiss him deeply on the lips. William arms are securely tucked under hers as his hands caress her back firmly while he runs them up to the base of her neck. Cassie lowers her head, and her lips begins to move to the right side of William's neck and down to his chest. She lifts her head and scoots her waist up closer as she takes her hands to the back of William's head, gripping his short hair between her fingers. She slowly leans her neck and upper body back as William begins to gently kiss the base of her neck and downward to her chest.
Heavy breathing and the sound of water splashing onto the floor echoed inside the room.
The next morning Colton wakes up and rolls over. He leans over and kisses Lily. "Good morning sunshine. I guess we need to get up and get going." Just then the phone rings. Colton answers as Lily sits up in the bed. "This is Colton.. Oh Wayne, long time, no see... Hmm, I would have to talk with her... Today huh, I think we could manage that. 7:30 pm.. Sounds good, might bring some friends with us." Colton hangs up the phone. He looks at Lily. "That was Wayne Shockley from the Texas Wrestling Federation. I guess Cassie made a big impression yesterday. He wants Cassie and I to come do a onetime only match tonight. What do you think?" Lily gets out of bed. "You know I always loved watching you wrestle. You should give her a call and ask." Colton smiles and Lily walks to the bathroom. Colton grabs his phone and texts Cassie. "Need to talk.. Hit me up when you wake up." Colton walks to the bathroom door and knocks on it. "Hey Lil, do you think Mom and Pops would bring Sammy to this? I think he would love this." Lily replies. "I will call Mom when I am done here." Colton leans against the door. "Okay, I am going to head downstairs and take care of the room and bring the car to the front. I have the bags and then we can go out for breakfast. Love you." Colton grabs the bags and heads out the door. Walking down the hall, the door to the room beside theirs opens up and William is standing there. Colton looks at him and William nods and shuts the door. Colton smiles and walks to the elevator. Reaching the front door, he looks at the young lady behind the desk. "Good morning. I would like to check out. I also want to pay for my room and for room 320." The young girl takes his credit card and runs it. She smiles and hands it back. "My wife is still up there, she should be down in a few minutes, so please give her time before housekeeping goes in."
William stands by the door with a sly grin upon his face. He looks over as Cassie is still laying in the bed peacefully sleeping. There are pillows scattered along the floor, the lamp on the nightstand beside the bed had been knocked over and a large picture above the head of the bed had fallen down behind the headboard. William tries to straighten up and begins to take a few dry towels from the bathroom and place them along the side of the tub, soaking up the wet floor. He walks over and sits down upon the bed and gently slides Cassie's hair from the front of her face back behind her ear. He leans down and whispers. "Wake up beautiful." He gives her a kiss on the cheek. She slowly begins to open her eyes as she smiles while stretching her body out underneath the sheets. "Sleep well?" William asks. With a soft moan, she smiles looking at him. "I did, did you?" William nodded. "I met our noisy neighbor this morning." He began to laugh. "really? did you say anything to him?" Cassie began to sit up in the bed. "No, but I think you will find it quite funny." She begins to slide out of the bed. She looks around for her clothing as William takes in the view. She finds her undergarments as she makes her way to the bathroom. She finger combs her hair and washes up. She looks to William as he continues to try and straighten up. She has a huge smile upon her face. "Can I get one of those shirts to put on?" William looks for the bag and hands her the New Breed shirt. She slides it on as it comes just above her knees. "Well, this will just have to do." She slides up her boots and hugs William. "Where is all our stuff? Did you take it to the truck already?" He nods. "We are all set to check out. All I need is you and your phone." He hands it to her.
"Are you ready?" He extends his arm out as she slides hers inside his. They open the door and Cassie steps out. Just then the door to the room next door opens and Lily comes walking out. The two girls stand and stare at each other for seconds before they smile, and Lily takes notice to Cassie's attire. "My, my, Cas..looks like you had one hell of a night." Cassie blushes as William steps out of the door. "And it sounded like ya'll did too." Cassie looked to William and all three let out a mild laugh. They all make their way to the elevator as the ride down was silent, with all three smiling. The door slides open as Colton stands staring at the three of them.
He takes one look at Cassie and then looks at William, he wants to speak, however Lily draws his attention with a whisper to his ear. “Don’t you say one mean thing to them, look at her, she is glowing! Let her have her moment.” Colton sighs, and just eyeballs William. William returns the same look back to Colton, and then at Cassie. He smiles at her and just nods to Colton as he and Cassie, walk out hand in hand. "You are not going to tell dad, are you?" Cassie stops and turns to Colton with a worried look upon her face. He begins to open his mouth, with his eyebrow cocked up above his left eye. Lily steps up beside Colton and smiles. "Of course not! Right, Babe?" She gives him a nudge to the side and Colton curled his lip to his nose looking directly at Cassie. "I won't say anything! Nice dress by the way." His tone was a bit sarcastic, but he smiled and nodded his head. "Let's all meet at IHOP for breakfast, I have something I want to run by you." He pats her on the shoulder and nods to William as they each get to their vehicles and drive down the road.
With the gas petal to the floor, Cassie keeps a safe distance between her and Colton. She seems to be in deep thought from the events of last night; with a smile she turns her head to William. "About last night." She paused as William's face lit up with a smile and he turned looking to her. "I don't want you to think that..." William cuts her off by putting his finger to her lips. "Crashie, last night was perfect. I would never think of you in that way. You are perfect for me." He brings his hand back and just looks out the window.
With a smile, and a soft sigh, they pull into the parking lot, and park just across from Colton and Lily. She reached for her bag and cell phone as Colton's E-mail message had come through. She does not open it; she just slides her phone into her bag as William opens the door escorting her up the walkway. The four make their way inside and are waiting to be seated. A young boy comes running up to Colton and Cassie with his father not far behind. The little boy's eyes are widened with excitement, as he extends his hand out to Cassie. "Vanity! I saw you last night at the show, you touched my hand when you jumped over the bars into that guy's arms. I am never taking another bath again!" Cassie looks embarrassed for just a moment as everyone's eyes turn in their direction. She was not in her best appearance, but she bends down to the kid and whispers in her most polite Vanity persona way. "Kid, I appreciate the gesture, however You need to take a bath, you reek of bacon fat." She gives the kid a wink, and she smiles over to his dad. "I'm glad you enjoyed the show." She pats him on the top of the head as they all walk to their table.
William turns looking oddly to Cassie, then back to the kid, who has the biggest grin on his face. As they sit down William hands a small bag over to Lily. Lily opens the bag, reaches in. William looks at her. "Lily when we were at the show last night, I found a couple of things I thought you might like." Colton looks at William. "Billy, one is not enough, are you making moves on my girl, while sitting next to yours?" William looks at Colton with a smile and gives him the middle finger. Lily elbows Colton in the ribs. 'Stop it. you big meanie, he is just being nice." William laughs as Cassie sticks out her tongue at Colton. William looks at Lily. " Now before I was so rudely interrupted. This is something I ran across when I was looking for a T-shirt last night." Lily pulls out the two other shirts and the action figures. She holds up the one of Vanity and cocks her head to the side. William laughs as Cassie just stares at the shirt. "Nope sorry that one is mine." William takes the shirt of Vanity and folds it back up. Colton just laughs. Lily holds up the T-shirt of Colton sitting on a chopper with one of the tag team belts strapped across the handlebars. She holds it and gives a loud wolf whistle. Everyone at the table laughs. William points at the action figures of Colton and Cassie. "I got those for Sammy. I thought he may like them." Lily reaches over and pats the top of William’s hand. "Thank you so much for these, and yes Sammy will love these." Colton looks over at Cassie who is just staring at William. "Hey sis, did you read that email I sent you?"
She looks to him and reaches inside her bag; she pulls out her phone and begins to open the email. As she begins to read, Colton takes notice to the gleam in her eyes. As she continues, she looks up from her phone and over to Colton. "Is this for real? They want us to wrestle for the Tag Titles?" She turns to William; are you ok with this?"
William looks at Cassie. "Don't worry about me. If this is something you want to do, go for it. I will always support you in whatever you need.”
She looks to Colton and lets out a soft scream of excitement. "I guess we are doing this? I need to buy some clothes; I can't stay like this all day. What about Mom & Dad? We gotta have Sammy here too, Oh and uncle G." She continues to go on and on, rambling on with excitement. The waitress comes to the table with an order pad and pen. "Would you like to order now?"
Everyone gives her their orders as she begins to write everything down and walks away. William looks over to Colton. "How do you feel about all this? I think we all know what Crashie thinks about it all."
Colton looks around the table. "Honestly I never really thought about it. I mean sometimes it crosses my mind. It was fun. We won the titles years ago, but we never lost them and that is the angle they want to go with. I kind of want to do this for Sammy. He never got to see us wrestle. He was just a baby when we both retired so, I would like to do this for him. Plus, this is not going to be that hard of a match. It is not like it is going to get out of hand or anything." The server brings the food over to the table and sets the plates down. They all begin to eat. Lily pauses from eating and looks at Cassie. "Do you know what you are going to wear? How about after we eat, you and I go get you something. Knowing Colton, he is just going to wear jeans and a T-shirt."
"Sure, that sounds great. I'm sure these two can find something to get into while we shop. It is not like I am my mother and have a image to uphold." Cassie points to herself. "Do any of you think Mom would actually be caught dead out in public looking like this?" Everyone at the table begins to laugh. "I thought she was going to stroke out when we left the hospital, and she realized we weren't going home." Colton adds with a smile. "Good, now that it is settled, I guess we should call Mom and Dad." Cassie nods as she picks up her phone. "Mom, you, dad, Sammy and Uncle Gyon get dressed. Colton and I are sending a limo out to the cabin around 4:30 to pick you up. We have a surprise for ya. Mom, dress your best, and tell Dad and Gyon to just get in the car when it comes. Colton said not to worry about a car seat, the limo will have one in there for Sammy. See you all tonight!" Cassie puts her phone down and takes a bite of her waffle and goes about eating as if nothing just happened. Colton looks at her with a smile. "Straight to the point, I see. What did mom say?" Cassie is chewing on her food, as she swallows, she looks to him with a smile. "I don't know, all I heard was "Hello.." Colton shakes his head as everyone begins to laugh. Colton's phone gets a ping, he looks down as a text from Hunter chimes in.
Colton looks at his phone and starts to laugh. He lays the phone on the table for everyone to see. "Boy, what the hell is going on. Cassie just called your mother and told us you are sending a limo for us. I don't think she should be going anywhere, plus, you know how I feel about surprises." Colton starts to text back. "Everything is good pops. We are just taking you guys to a show. We all need to let off a little steam. So, do what your daughter said to do." Colton puts his phone in his pocket as everyone smiles. Colton leans over and gives Lily a kiss. "Now you guys go have fun. We will meet you at the armory at 6 pm. The show starts at 7:30 pm." Colton pulls out his wallet and puts down a one-hundred-dollar bill. The four get up and leave. Cassie and Lily get in Cassie's truck. Colton and William get in the Hummer. Colton looks at William. "What do you want to do?" William looks around. "Hmm, want to go look at some cars?" Colton smiles. 'I know just the place." He drives out of the parking lot and onto the highway.
While the girls jump into the truck, Lily begins to fasten her seatbelt. Cassie is thumbing through her bag and realizes William has the key fob. She quickly calls him before they get too far out of range. "Hey Asshole.." She laughs. "Tell my brother to swing back by; you have my keys." She clicks the phone without saying goodbye as Lily looks at her with a strange look. "Girl, are you ok?" Cassie just sits for a moment and turns her head back to Lily. "Never better!" Just a few minutes have passed as Colton pulls back into the parking lot. William steps out of the Hummer and walks over to the driver's side of the truck. Cassie rolls her window down smiling. Lily turns her head confused. "How...?" She begins to immediately smile as William opens the door and Cassie grabs his shirt, pulling him forcefully down into her face. "You ever leave me again without kissing me, I can promise you, you won't like what happens next." She forcefully gives William a kiss and shoves him back, giving him a wink. "Now, you two may leave." She rolls up the window and the two girls leave the parking lot, leaving William standing there with a sly smile upon his face. He slowly walks back to the Hummer and just sits still for a moment. Colton just stares. "She had the keys the entire time, didn't she?"
William turns to Colton. "Man, that sister of yours keeps a guy on his toes. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing I wouldn't do for her, but occasionally, she does something that seems a bit off, almost like she is someone else. Saying that, I think she just maybe the one. I know it has not been that long, but everything feels perfect when I am with her." Colton looks at William. "Billy just know this, before you go too far, you and her need to talk. She has been through some hard things, and I think you need to know about it before you take this any further. Not that I don't want to see you guys together. Hell, you were my best friend growing up and I know you always watched over her, but things and people change. So, I think you two should sit down and talk about things." William looks at Colton and nods.
The girls are making their way to Neiman Marcus. Cassie sets her cruise control on and begins to turn up the music. The sound of “Familiar taste of poison" plays, and Cassie seems to just be in another world. She sings along to the words, almost in a translucent state. Lily just looks on and does not say a word. As the song fades Cassie lowers the volume and takes a deep breath in as a sign of relief. She pulls into the parking lot, and she looks at Lily staring out of the window. "Are you ready, Sis?" She turns her head to Cassie. "I am, but Cas, are you sure, you are, okay? You have been acting a little strange since we left the hotel. Did something happen that shouldn't have? You know I will never mention it to Colton if I knew it wouldn't hurt you." Cassie shakes her head and gives Lily an odd look. "What? No, of course not, everything was perfect, William is perfect. I could not have asked for a more perfect first date. He is just so...so, amazing!" Her face begins to light up and Lily smiles, a sign of relief. "Then what is wrong, something has you acting all weird." Cassie opens the truck door as the two begin to walk to the store. "I'm just afraid I will lose him after tonight." Lily grabs Cassie by the arm and stops her from moving any further. "Girl, you have lost your mind if you think that boy is going anywhere, Colton even noticed how he looks at you. Why are you so worried?" Cassie lowers her head. "Vanity, how can I even begin to tell him about her. I'm scared he is going to think I am some nut job and there is no guarantee at this event that I will be able to contain her. In the ring is where she was at her strongest, as much as I love the feeling, it was as if she was born for it.
The more pain we inflicted, the more she was hungry for it. I don't want him to see that side of me, not yet." Cassie takes a step away and begins to walk into the store. Lily trails behind her with a worried look upon her face. She begins to text Colton. "Babe, we may have a slight problem tonight. Cassie is afraid Vanity may come out in front of William." She pushes send as she walks into the store. Seconds pass as her phone pings with Colton's reply. "I think it may be a little too late for that. Talk about it later. Just take care of Sis and have fun. See you guys soon. love you wifey!"
