The kids had all gathered back at the Hurst mansion.  Cassie and Lily, busy making plans for the party.  Colton and Gyon oversaw keeping Hunter entertained until it was time for them to leave.  Summer had not made it home yet; she was still out and about with her bottle of wine.  Hunter was putting the finishing touches on the newly built boat dock, as he stood admiring all the handy work.

Sammy was over by the large tire swing that had been hung in the very same tree ever since his father was just a boy.  Colton keeps a close eye on him, as Shooter pushes him in the swing.  Coming down the dirt road is a large flatbed semi-truck hauling what appeared to be a rather large item covered underneath a huge black tarp.   As it draws near, Colton, Gyon and Hunter all turn to see what it could possibly be.  The truck comes to a halt, just feet from the end of the boat ramp.  Hunter walks up to the truck and pecks on the driver’s door.

“What is up, Buddy, what you got there?”  The driver opens the door, with a clipboard in hand.

“I have a delivery for a Summer Hurst.”  Hunter turns to Colton. “You know what this is, boy?”  Colton shrugs his shoulders.

“Alright Pal, I will sign for it.”  Hunter scribbles his name on the paper and hands the clipboard back to the driver.  The driver lowers the truck bed and begins to raise the head of the trailer.  He unstraps the buckles as the tarp covered item slowly slides down the ramp.  You could tell by the look of it, the item rested upon a trailer.  Colton’s eyes grew wide with excitement.  Cassie and Lily step outside just as Hunter begins to loosen the tarp straps.

“I wonder what that could be, Lily.”  Cassie nudges her in the side.  The two girls smile and laugh, looking over at Hunter.  The men all turn and look to the girls.  Colton seems confused but shrugs it off and goes to assist Hunter.

From there, the black tarp is now easily removed as a brand new, red, and black speed boat sits upon a black trailer.  Hunter’s eyes grow wide, and a smile formed upon his face.  He notices a huge red bow, tied upon the steering wheel with a note attached to it.  Hunter looks over the boat before stepping up on the trailer.  Painted on the front right side of the boat is the word “Badass”, Hunter shakes his head still with a smile upon his face.  He steps up and into the boat, retrieving the letter from the wheel.  It reads:

“Happy Anniversary Babe, Have I told you lately that you are my love, my life, the air that I breathe, you are my soul, my happiness, the ALL that I will ever need.  You are my light, my darkness, the stars in the sky.  You are my ups and my downs and the reason that I try.  You are my strength, my weakness, my love from the start, you are my heartache, my pain, and the beat of my heart.  You are my tears, my joy, in the love that you bring, you are my world, my galaxy, my EVERYTHING!”  So, in case I haven’t, now, I have.

Hunter turned his back to everyone standing alongside the boat, he smiled, whipping a tear that had formed in his eye.  Slowly he flips the card over, about to put it in his pocket as he reads what is written on the back.

“I told you, you can’t always be a badass.  Meet me at the place where we shared our first kiss.  I will be waiting for you.  P.S I already paid him off.  I love you, Idjit!”

He begins to fold the card, now placing it in his back pocket.  He steps down, still admiring the boat.

“What did the card say, Pop?”  Colton asked with a smile upon his face.  Hunter shakes his head.

“Nothing young eyes need to see.” He shoots a sly smile over to him and walks towards the house.

“Where are you going dad?” Cassie asked.  “I’m going to find your mother, baby girl.”    He continued to step inside the house.

Cassie quickly shoves Colton and nods her head in Hunter’s direction.  “You gotta stall him, Mom should be back any time now.”

Colton shrugs his shoulders and looks around.  Lily steps up with Sammy in her arms.  “What are we going to do?  Your mom left me with the car, saying she had something to do.  Do you think she’s ok?”  She looks to Colton.

“I don’t see why she wouldn’t be, what did you all do today?”  He takes Sammy from Lily’s arms; he can tell he was getting a bit too heavy for her to hold.

“We ate at some fancy steak house; she began to tell us a story about a guy named Kirk Visconty.”  Colton squints his eyes.  “I know him, he used to wrestle in the same circuit with Mom and Dad.”  Lily just nods. “She had also told us, that he was her first love.  How ironic is that?”  Colton steps back a second.

“He was what?”  looking on in disbelief. “I never heard that before.” He replied.

“It’s true, she told us everything, how they met, how she chased him around the world, how it was him that got her into wrestling and how things ended up until she met your Dad.”  Lily pulls out her cell phone.

“Look, I even searched him up, here is a picture of them together.”  Lily shows Colton and his eyes grow big.  “Wow..Mom looked exactly like Cassie back then.”  Lily just nudges Colton in the arm.  “Ya, that guy is pretty damn hot too.” She smiles.  Colton gently pushes the phone out of the way and gives Lily a side eye.  “I wonder if Pops knows about them?”  Colton thinks out loud.

“I’m sure he does, she said she had no secrets to hide when she was telling us, and besides, I don’t think it would even matter if he didn’t.  The love they have for each other, you only read about in fairy tales.  It’s only the most perfect love story ever written.  Your mom found her prince and her happily ever after.  Most girls can only dream of a love like that.”  Colton takes in a deep breath and passes Sammy back over to Lily and kisses her on the forehead.

“I’m going to go check on the old man.”  He begins to walk to the house, as everyone notices Hunter’s truck pull out of the drive.

“Shit…”  Colton turns to Cassie as she stands with her hands upon her hip.  “Dammit, Colton, you had ONE job…”   Cassie storms over to Summer’s car.  “Lily, you coming?”  Lily nods, placing Sammy in the rear car seat before getting into the driver’s seat and begins to follow Hunter.  Gyon and Colton load up in Gyon’s SUV as Shooter and the gang pile up into his van.

Momentarily, a set of headlights can be seen pulling into the drive of the Hurst Mansion once again; This time, exiting the back seat was Summer.  She hands the driver a fifty and shuts the door, still holding onto the bottle of wine.  She begins to look around, everyone’s vehicle was gone except for Colton and Lily’s.  She had hoped the girls had made it home okay earlier on.  She walks up to the front door, and she realizes Lily had her keys.

“Well, this is just great..”  She walks around the side of the garage where Hunter’s “man cave” was located.  It was the only place in the house, Hunter called his own and Summer never stepped in.

“Please be unlocked.”  It was.  She stepped inside, flipping on the switch to see balled up paper all over the garage floor.  Looking confused, she walked further inside.  It had been the first time in many years that she had stepped into the area.  It was Hunter’s place of solitude, and she respected his privacy, only this time, things just didn’t work that way.  She walks over to his work bench, there was a piece of paper lying on top addressed to her.  She picked up the paper and began to read.

Summer,

So, babe another year has come and gone, and you still have not left this old man yet. I don’t know why you would ever stay with me. I am old and broken and set in my ways to ever change. Yet here you are. I know that I don’t say this often enough, but I love you. You are the reason I wake up every day. I am so proud to have you with me. You are the only one that knows me, the real me.

Sometimes I wish I could just say it, but we both know that it is just how I am. Never doubt how I feel about you. I would burn the whole world down for you if you asked. I am nothing without you. You have given me two wonderful children. Without you they would never have become the great people they have turned out to be. You have given me purpose when I had none. The most important than all this, you have given me your time in this life. Without that I would still be by myself going from hotel room to hotel room and wrestling ring to wrestling ring. You were and are my savior in this life. I love you, and I want to say thank you for being my better half and my most trusted partner in this life and the next.

                                                                                                                                                   Hunter.

Her eyes filled with tears; it was the first time ever that Hunter had expressed himself like that in their entire time together.   She held the paper close to her heart, not wanting to put it down, but she knew she had to.  She backs away still brushing the tears from her face, and she steps up to the refrigerator that sits in the corner of the garage.  She opens the door, about to place the bottle of wine inside, and sees a huge bouquet of blue stargazer Lillies in a black vase.

“Damn you, Idjit.”  She smiled as she placed the bottle of wine inside and began to smell the flowers.  She closed the door, standing silently for just a moment.

“I will never understand how I got to be so lucky finding this man.”  She begins to walk to the door that enters the home, and she steps inside.

She begins to walk upstairs; she was going to freshen up before meeting Hunter at Charlie’s for the night.  It was seven o’clock that evening, and she remembered she had not given Hunter a time to meet her.  She looked all through her closet upstairs, looking for the perfect outfit to wear for him.  She knew it wouldn’t stay on long, after all, Charlie’s place seemed to be their aphrodisiac.  She pulls out the perfect suit.  She lays it across the bed about to step into the shower when her cell phone rings.  It was Charlie’s phone.  She smiled.

“Charlie, you are going to have to stop calling me like this, Hunter is getting suspicious.”  She laughed.  You could hear the snicker coming from Hunter in the background.

“Where are you at woman?  I’ve been waiting here for almost an hour.  I like what you did to the place, but I think the kids have other plans.  They don’t think I can see their vehicles outside through these dingy glass windows. “

“I’m sorry Babe, I’m at the house, I spent most of the afternoon creating the perfect setting you see before you.  I lost track of time.  I just wanted everything to be perfect.”  Summer replied.

“Woman, if you have not realized by now, that any place with you, is the perfect place for me, then you never will.  Sit tight, I’m headed home.”  Hunter ends the call.  He steps out of the back room of Charlie’s place, he notices everyone getting out of their cars, making their way inside the front door.  He then walks around the building, hops in his truck, and once again leaves without a word.

“Did Dad just leave us, AGAIN? “Colton looks on as he sees Hunter’s taillights dim in the distance.  Gyon tosses his hands up into the air.  “The hell with them, I want a beer!”

Everyone just shrugs and nods their head.  Little Sammy sits on a bar stool looking at his dad.  “Do I get one too?”  Colton smiles, “Not until you’re at least twelve, son.”  Lily smacks Colton playfully to the back of the head and laughs.  Everyone was enjoying Summer’s surprise for Hunter.  The laughter began to fill the small bar.  Gyon felt right at home.  It was the place where he, Hunter and Summer spent a lot of time working on promos for their matches. He walks over to the pool table and sees a piece of paper sitting on top.  He picks it up to read.

Remember this pool table, it held up well over the years hasn’t it.  Tonight, it comes down for good.”

Gyon tossed the paper back to the table; he shook his hand as if he touched something gross.  He backed away slowly, remembering the night Summer had written about.

Hunter now pulls into the drive of their home.  He steps to the front door, unlocking it and walks inside.  Summer was upstairs in the room; she had just stepped into the shower and was trying to hurry before Hunter got there.  He walks quietly into the room; he smiles as he can hear the water running from the shower.  He takes everything out of his pockets, he takes his shoes off and steps inside.

“Woman, this is the only scenery I want to see.”  He reaches around her waist, turning her body to face his.  They stood smiling at each other while his clothes were soaking wet.

“Does this mean I have to pay you now for the damages we are about to make?”  Summer smiles as she kisses his lips passionately while unbuckling his pants.

“Woman, by the time I’m finished with you, there may not be a house left standing for you to pay for.”  He lifts his shirt up and over his head as he takes Summer into his arms and lifts her body up around his as the water pours down on top of them.
