It's been about three weeks with Akita, and he has suddenly outgrown my little apartment.  Neighbors have been complaining and the security guard is more scared of me now than he was before!

The owner of the building, of course, called Summer, he knew Father would just laugh in his face and tell him to "Grow a set...kick her out yourself, I dare you!"

As I listened to Mother explain the owner's case on liability; I can only imagine what this is really doing to Akita.

Would I be able to domesticate him enough to keep him with me, or would his nature be too much for even me to handle?  We were kindred spirits; it was meant for me to find him that day on the trail.  We rescued each other that day and I will not abandon him for the likes of anyone.

It was beginning to snow, the temperature outside a mere thirty-two degrees and Akita looked as if he was in heaven.  We had ventured off on the trail, as I took my morning workout.  Not many people tend to run in these temperatures, but for us, it was the perfect weather.

I slowed my pace as I watched Kita Scurry off into the brush; "Akita!!!" I yelled, "Come back here!!"

Nervously, I began to chase him through the snow-covered brush.  All I could think about was someone getting to him before I could.

As I walked further into the brush, I could see Kita standing in the distance facing the wooded area.  His ears standing at attention, his body in a pouncing state.  What was he hunting?  I wanted to walk closer but was afraid I would startle whatever it was he had in his sights.  ~crack~ Akita's stance broke, and he was quick to get on his feet.   He turned to me and quickly ran to the woods Infront of him, his ears forward, but now a stern growl was coming from his muzzle.
I took a step back, there surely was something in front of us he did not like.

Slowly emerging from the trees, a small pack of maybe four to five elder wolves begin to creep up on him.  "Akita!!!!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, though he did not budge.  One elder seemed to step head of the pack, a beautiful one with grayish black fur; could it be the alpha or perhaps the mother that was lost to him?  I wanted, I needed to know.

The two stood face to face; a stare down of sorts.  I watched on as they continued with their introduction.  Would they welcome him into the pack, would Kita actually go?  Was the old lady, right?  Would it be too dangerous for Kita or was I just being selfish by wanting him to stay?

While two more wolves made their way to Akita, my heart was pounding, would they jump him?  Would they kill him?

"Akita...Come!!"  The sound of my crackling voice disrupted the gathering, Akita's head lowered, as the three elders placed their stares upon me.

A single bark from the leader seemed to get the attention of the rest of the pack.  Akita seemed outnumbered, his growl grew fierce and very intimidating.

The three elders began to circle Akita, and again, I yelled out. "KITA!!!"  the two wolves emerging from the woods, quickly began to chase, passing the three elders and heading in my direction.

I turn and quickly make a run towards the path, perhaps they would stop.  I stumbled upon a snow-covered branch while I am turning my head to see if they were still chasing me.  I must have tumbled and rolled for several feet; when I finally opened my eyes, he was standing beside me.  My Akita, He had found his place.
