The tension was on high alert, Time was of the essence as Sammy remained in the custody of Damon Mikaelson.  Colton was doing his best to reassure Lily that their baby boy would return to them safely, but the fear of a mother’s heart knew nothing of such things.  The Mikaelson clan had been known for their notorious dealings when it came to something they wanted, and this time the cost was Cassie’s life for her son’s. How could that decision be made?

This was the ultimate sacrifice for the Hurst family.  William, still unheard from, was out, ensuring the life of both members of the family no harm, even if it meant giving up his own life.  Hunter had been watching his movements, still upon foot.

Summer kept a close watch on her phone, whereas Damon’s tracker was leading them on the outskirts of Ft. Worth.
Summer had a plan, a dangerous plan, though a plan that not a single member of the family could talk her out of.
It was the only logical plan there was as she knew she could pull it off.  It would no doubt cause problems with Hunter, but the lives of three people would be worth the risk.

As each member of the family silently gathered their things and began to head out of the arena, Summer cornered Cassie up at the door.  “Baby girl, I want you to ride with your father, there is plenty of room for everyone in the Hummer. Let me take your truck and I will follow behind you all. You do not need to be driving.”  Not giving it a second’s thought, she handed over the keys.  Summer smiled, reaching out to give her a hug. As everyone begins to leave, they all group up near Summer’s black Hummer.  Colton has his arms wrapped tightly around Lily, Cassie is walking slowly, holding on to her stomach, Gyon is carrying both the tag titles as he walks beside Hunter, who keeps looking down upon his phone.  Summer trails behind slowly, keeping a safe distance to execute her plan.  This had to work precisely as one tiny slip, could impale the entire idea.

Hunter steps over to Cassie; he extends his hand asking for her keys. Colton looks at everyone and tosses the Hummer’s keys to Gyon.  “I know mom wouldn’t mind. I’m going to sit back here with Lily. Dad can drive Sis’ truck.”
Summer turned to everyone. “I forgot the keys on the table. I will go back in and get them.  You guys sit in the hummer, it’s too hot out here, I won’t be long.”

She slowly walks over to Hunter, who has a strange look upon his face.  “What are you up to, woman?” She stands giving him an innocent smile, as she tip toes up, giving him a kiss. She backs away slowly not saying a word. It was best this way; it was the only way. He was the only man, she could never lie to, and she would not be able to do so now. She continued to step back, never taking her eyes off him.  He knew she was not going to speak; he knew that she couldn’t; He knew she was up to no good. “Summer….” He wailed as her image slowly faded out of view. As everyone stood outside, he turned back to them. He could not cause a scene, everyone was upset enough, and he knew Summer knew he wouldn’t.  “Everyone get in the car like your mother said.” He turned to Gyon with an aggravated look upon his face. “One last ride, alright!” Shaking his head.  They all sat inside the car with the a/c running, for what seemed like an hour.  Hunter was checking his phone, as he had sent several texts to Summer, with no reply.  Gyon looks up, over to the front passenger side window, as he notices Cassie’s truck speeding out of the parking lot.  This sends Hunter into a rage as he slams on the gas and begins to follow.

Hunter pushes down on the gas pedal. "Damn woman!" Hunter tosses his phone to Gyon who looks at it and then looks at Hunter. "Who are you tracking?" Hunter facing forward. "That idiot stray of Cassie's."  Cassie looks up and over towards Hunter. “Thanks Dad, as if I don’t already feel like shit for him jumping into this mess.! If you all would just let me deal with Damon, this would all be over with.”

Colton looks over at Cassie. "We never stopped you from doing anything. You just got scared and hoped it would go away. Now, once again, I, now we, have to clean up your mess. I do not understand why Sammy loves you so much. If he knew the real you, he would never want to be around you." Lily looks up at Colton. "Colton, you do not talk to her like that. She is your sister. This not her fault, it is Damon's fault." Colton holds Lily tight as he just stares at Cassie.

Cassie remained quiet.  She finally turned to Colton with a straight face.  "You know, for the first time in our life, I can honestly agree you with.  This is my fault.  It's been my fault for everything. Why Should Sammy, or any of you love me?  I wished now, it would have been me who died that night in the hotel room and not Sasha!  Your life would be so much easier."  She turns her head to look out the window.

Hunter slams the brakes as the hummer skids to a stop in the middle of the road. He turns around and looks at everyone. "Cut this horse shit out. Neither of you are at fault. This is not the time for fights. We need to get Sammy back. That is all that matters now. If you guys want to continue this, you can do it in the ring at home. Not in the freakin backseat. Now Cassie get on your phone and find out where your mother is. Thanks to you two children she as gotten away from us."

Cassie glares over to Colton, then slides out her phone from her bag.  She taps the screen to see a Family picture as the wallpaper with several notifications from Hunter.  "Uh, Dad..Mom must have switched the phones.  all I have is her cellphone."

Hunter punches the steering wheel. "This damn woman is going to be the death of me. What do we do now?" Colton pulls out his phone. He dials a number. "Hey Kami this is a emergency. Can you track Cassie's phone?" Mom switched phones with her. She is going after Damon, because he kidnapped Sammy."

Kami's voice was choppy, as heavy breathing was heard as she answered the phone. "Dammit Toad, Not like that!"  Kami finally acknowledged Colton's call.  "You say what?"  She pauses.  "Hara stop, give me a second, Colton is on the phone!"

"What are you talking about?  Why would Damon kidnap Sammy?  Give me a few minutes to get to the shack, I will ping you the information."  Just before she hangs up, Hara's voice was heard.  "You like it that way don't you, Tensi?"  The call drops and Colton just shakes his head.

Hunter looks at Gyon. "Hey, call William and ask him if he has seen Summer" Gyon scrolls through the phone. He hits Williams number. The phone rings twice and goes to voicemail. "No dice, big man."

The ride was quiet, Summer kept the phone nearby, tracking Damon's location, from what she could see, she was ahead of him about 20 minutes.  She picks up the phone, calling him as he answers.  "Damon, you did not have to do this to get my attention, Sammy doesn't deserve to be taken from his parents."  Summer said in a scratchy voice.  "Cassie? what's wrong with your voice?"  Summer began to play it off. "As if you don't know, I just finished a wrestling match, I've been yelling, getting kicked, punched in the throat and now you have me crying because you took my nephew and now my family hates me."  Summer starts to sniffle to add to the dramatics.  Damon sat quietly for a moment.  "So, you agree to my terms?  You are meeting me alone, in Memorial Park?  You do not bring Stone, just you and Sammy and once I know Sammy is ok, I will leave with you."  Damon reluctantly speaks.  "Sure, Cassie. Just as long as your boy toy stays clear of us, no harm will come to Sammy."

Summer's face turns red, she nearly falls out of character.  "Listen, you.."  she pauses.  "Listen, do you think I would bring William, knowing I am willing to turn myself over to you?  I told you, I would go with you, why would I make things even harder for us?"  See you in a bit."  She hangs up and proceeds to scream! "I can't wait to kill that bastard!"  She continues down the road.  The next turn is where she needs to take that leads down a small gravel road just out of town near Memorial State Park.  She drives slowly, noticing William walking on the grass.  She comes to a stop, unlocks the door and turns her head away from his direction.

William is walking through the grass with something in a long bag slung over his shoulder. As the truck stops, he heads over to it. He takes the bag off and opens the door and climbs in. He lays the bag across his lap. He turns and looks at her. "Hey baby, I hope you are okay. Don't worry about any of this. I will get little man back for you. After tonight, Damon will not be able to bother you anymore. I love you, Cassie and if I have to kill that Son of Bitch to make sure you are okay and Sammy gets home, I will do it a hundred times over."

William just stares at her. "I have never seen that hat before babe. Did you get it when you and Lily went shopping?"

Summer has a smile upon her face.  She sits for a moment before she answers.  "It won't come to that Billy."  She reaches for the hat as she pulls it from the top of her head.  She glares at William before pulling off her sunglasses.  "Mrs. Hurst?  I thought.."  Summer smiles.  "Good, if I can fool the man who's desperately willing to give his life for my daughter, I sure as hell can fool that scum bag, Mikaelson."  William gives Summer a confused look. "Billy, I am going to get Sammy, and there is nothing anyone can do about that. So, you have a choice to make, you can go along with me, or I can leave you on the side of the road.  The choice is yours, Kid."

William sits for a second. "Mrs. Hurst you don't need to do this. Let me do this please. You are way too important to your family. I am nothing, and no one. If something happens to me, it is not such a big deal. You are loved by a lot of people. Let’s just do it my way. That way none of it comes back on you guys." Hidden from Summer, William is texting Hunter. "Meet at Memorial Park, ASAP!"

Summer shakes her head, "William, you are one of my reasons for doing this, do you honestly think I would allow my daughter to hand herself over to that maniac?  Because you know she would, just to save that boy.  The other thing is, I could not sit and watch my daughter go through another heartache of losing someone she loves. The heartbreak she went through before was what brought Vanity forward.  She could not handle the pain from her attack.  Vanity is the one who shields her, but she is ruthless.  She is everything Cassie is not.  We just recently got her back, she loses you, we lose her for good.  I won't allow that to happen, Billy.  So, again, I ask you, are you with me, or not?

William just sighs. He looks at Summer. "Fine, we will do it your way, but he does something to you, I will kill him where he stands. I don't understand all this Vanity stuff you’re talking about, but Cassie will never lose you to him like that. That, I promise you."

William sends a hidden text to Hunter about Summer's plan; while his phone pings, Gyon tells him it is another text from William. He asks Gyon to read the text out loud. Hunter hits the steering wheel again and pushes the pedal to the floor and speeds down the road.

As Summer and William make their way down the gravel road, she checks Cassie's phone, Damon was moving in faster.  He was now less than five minutes away from the location.  Summer turns to William.  "It's showtime.  I need you, out of sight.  I need you to be where you can see, but not be seen until Sammy is out of harm’s way.  In order for this to work, I am going to have to do things that will not be appropriate, just remember, I have to make him believe I am Cassie.  What happens here tonight, stays here tonight, William.  I hope you can understand that. She looks at him as she parks the truck and steps out with her hat and sunglasses back on.  William steps out of the truck and grabs his bag, making his way out of sight.  Coming down the same road, a car is pulling in next to Cassie's truck.  Inside the car is Officer Stone, in the driver's seat, Damon on the passenger's side, and little Sammy in the back seat.  Summer is set, leaning against an old oak tree in the center of the park, her back is turned as she calls out.  "Damon?"  as the sound of leaves crunching under his feet was heard.

Damon's steps draw closer.  "Cassie.."  Summer gives a sadistic smile.  "Stop right there.  Where is Sammy?" Damon stops walking and begins to look around the area.   William has his pistol in hand, with his sight plastered upon Damon's temple.  He holds steady ready to fire.  "He is in the car.  Come on over here."  Summer's begins to laugh softly.  "Why?  don't you trust me.  Come on Damon, I don't want Sammy to see me like this, let him out of the car."  Damon waves his hand towards Stone, as he steps out of the car to retrieve Sammy.  Summer takes notice of Stone and immediately gets on the defensive side. "Damon, I thought I told you not to bring him.  Why is he here?"  Damon laughs.  "Cassie, I am no fool, who’s to say Sammy would not run, once I got out of the car, and you leave right along with him.  Now step out so I can see you."  Summer seems to be getting worried, her plan is not going as smoothly as she had thought, she lowers the bill of her hat and steps out from behind the tree.  Damon takes one look.  "See, that was not so bad was it?"  He begins to walk closer.  "Damon, release Sammy now!"  He just smiles stepping closer and closer to Summer.

Coming down the road slowly is Hunter and the gang, he is driving at a very slow pace, with the headlights shut off.  He stops the Hummer and turns to everyone inside.

"Boy, that piece of trash is yours, but don't move yet. Gyon, you stay with Lily. Don't let her get in harm’s way. Baby girl, I need you to be clear headed. We must play this right. Everyone, hold till I let you know.”

Damon begins to take his pace up a notch, Stone now stands beside a tree holding Sammy's arm tightly.  Sammy tries to struggle free, kicking Stone in the leg.  Colton catches the glimpse of Sammy's leg and begins to sprint in his direction.  Summer takes in a deep breath as Damon approaches.  He stands nearly face to face with her as she quickly reaches out, grabbing him by both arms, swinging him around and slams his back into the huge oak tree.  She has her body pressed firmly against him as both Cassie and Hunter come into view.  "MOM?"  Cassie yells, this draws Damon's attention as he turns back to Summer, just as she head butts him into the tree, sending her staggering back a bit as Damon grabs her by the arms and slings her back into the tree. At this time, Stone swings Sammy by the arm tossing him to the ground.  Colton takes a leap and flies out of nowhere with an array of punches to Stone's face.  Lily comes running up to Sammy, scooping him up in her arms.  William comes out to grab Cassie as Hunter makes his way over towards Summer and Damon.

He walks up behind Damon; Summer looks up and starts smiling. Damon looks at her. "What are smiling about bitch? This is not going to end well for you." Just then, Damon feels a hand on his shoulder and spins around standing face to face with Hunter. Hunter eyes flash with hate as he grabs Damon by the throat. He lifts Damon off the ground by his neck and pins him against the tree.

"No, now you know, this is not going to end well for you. You insulted my wife. You hurt and scared my daughter. You kidnapped my grandson."

Hunter slaps him across the face, while still holding him against the tree. Hunter grits his teeth. "You sent someone to my house to try and take my little girl." Hunter slaps him again. "Your actions burned my house down and put my wife in the hospital, where we almost lost her." Hunter slaps him across the face again. "You sent someone to Cassie's house to do something to her. Luckily that guy got what he deserved." Hunter slaps him again. Tears start to fill Damon's eyes. "Do you really think I was going to stand aside and let her leave with a piece of trash like you. We invited you into our home. We fed you and let you drink with us. I should have let Summer slit your throat that night at Cassie's apartment. That is not a mistake that I will let happen again." Hunter tosses Damon down to the ground. He slowly walks over and kicks him in the ribs. Damon curls up in pain. Hunter leans down and grabs him by his hair and stands him up again, holding him by the hair, Hunter punches him right in the face sending Damon flying to the ground once again. He pulls Damon up, now standing there with a broken nose. Blood is pouring down his face. Hunter pulls back and punches Damon right in the left ear, exploding his ear drum as it starts bleeding.

Colton and Stone continue to take punches out on each other.  Colton, getting the upper hand, grabs Stone by the back of the head and slams his face into the ground.  He continues to do this for several minutes.  Stone gets to his feet as Colton tries to step away.  He grabs Colton and slings him into the nearby pavilion as he sends him flying over a picnic table.  Colton is slow to his feet but manages to stand.  He takes a running leap and spears Stone’s back into the concrete pillars as a loud crack was heard.  Stone’s body immediately crumbles lifeless to the ground.  Lily screams out for him to stop; however, this only drives Colton more as he continues his attack with kicks to the stomach and head of Stone.  Lily turns to Gyon, “Call 911!  Before someone really gets hurt here!”  Gyon takes one look at Colton, and then over to Hunter as Summer stands smiling at him.  With a shrug and a smile, Gyon calls the Ft. Worth County Police.  “Hey, you guys may want to head over to the memorial park. Bring a couple of ambulances.  We have a few vigilantes that don’t take lightly to vandalism of a memorial statue and the assault of two females with a child.  Hurry or you will need a coroner instead.”

Summer tries to get Hunter’s attention to make him stop, but he is too focused. He drags Damon over to Cassie's truck, opens the driver’s door and places Damon's hand inside and slams it hard on his hand, not once, but three times. Damon screams out in pain. He screams out for Stone, but Hunter laughs at him. "I don't think he will be helping you anytime soon, boy." Hunter opens the door again and places his other arm in it. Damon is screaming and begging.  Hunter kicks him in the side again and then starts to repeatedly slam the door shut on his arm until he hears the bones crack. He grabs him by the collar and drags him over to Stone as Damon stares down upon his broken body.  Bleeding and crying, he looks up at Hunter. "Please don't kill me." Hunter looks at him laughing. "I am not going to kill you. I am just going to make you wish you were dead." He places Damon's leg up on a bench and brings his foot down hard on Damon's knee, bending it backwards. Summer grabs Hunter and pulls him away. "Babe, we have got to go now!" Hunter turns back to a beaten and broken Damon and spits on him. He grabs Summer by the hand and walks her to the Hummer. He gives her a kiss as he helps her inside; He walks over and climbs into Cassie's truck and starts it up.

Summer yells, as Hunter climbs inside. William is holding Cassie tight as she shouts out to her father.  Colton stands holding Lily with a smile on his face as he turns to her to shelter her vision.  He grabs Sammy and puts him inside the Hummer with Summer, telling him to lay down.  Gyon looks on with a smile.  "One last ride, Big Guy!"

Hunter looks at Gyon as he pushes the pedal to the floor. Gyon looks at him. "I thought you said you were not going to kill him." Hunter holds the steering wheel tight. "Where is the fun in that?" The truck speeds towards the pavilion where Damon and Stone are laying. The truck hits it hard and blasts through destroying it. Gyon looks back and sees Damon still moving. "Damn, Hunter, I think you missed him." Hunter smiles. "No one needs to know that. I should have worn my reading glasses." They laugh as they head out of the park as blue lights flash from the opposite side.

Cassie looks on and screams, Lily covers her mouth with her hands, as William and Colton rush to get everybody inside the Hummer.  Summer is in the backseat holding Sammy tightly as Colton and Lily take the front seat.  Sammy turns to look at Cassie.  "I don't like Damon anymore, he kept cheating on the game.  I am glad you don't like him anymore."  He leans over and puts his head on Cassie's shoulder.  "I like Mr. Billy more.  Maybe one day he can marry you like Mommy and Daddy.  He smiles looking at William.  "But she will still be my girlfriend!"  William laughs, and Cassie holds him tightly in her arms as they drive out of sight before the police arrive.

Colton looks in the rear-view mirror. He looks over everyone. He catches Lily's eyes and gives her a smile. He reaches out his hand and places it on his mother's hand. "I just want you all to know that I love you all very much, maybe not William so much, but I am glad you are here with Cass." Everyone lets out a small laugh. He looks in the mirror again and finds Cassie. He mouths the word "I'm sorry." to her. She nods her head as she just holds Sammy tightly in her arms.
